Trans-Tek designs and manufactures a complete line of Linear and Angular Displacement, and Linear Velocity Transducers.

LVDTs for Linear Displacement Measurements

A complete line of DC-DC and AC-AC LVDTs. Measurement ranges start at full stroke displacement of 0.010 inches to 60 inches. Standard configurations include high temperature, high pressure, small body, and low cost versions.

LVDT stands for Linear Variable Differential Transformer. The basic unit consists of a primary coil and two secondary coils wound on a coil form. A ferromagnetic core links the electromagnetic field of the primary coil to the secondary coils. Differencing the output of these coils will result in a voltage proportional to the relative movement of the core versus the coils.

Key Features and Benefits of LVDTs

Fact: What this means to you:

No contact between sensing elements

Infinite Life

Extremely Rugged Transducer

Can operate in harsh environments

Infinite Resolution

Very small increments of movement are measured

Absolute Measurement

No loss of position upon power down

Analog Input and Output

Signal conditioning compatible with most systems

Excellent Repeatability

Can perform very precise go/no-go applications

Gaging LVDTs

Trans-Tek Gaging LVDTs are available in ranges from 0.01 to 20 inches. AC-AC and DC-DC versions are available. Trans-Tek manufacturers 3 different lines of Gaging Transducers capable of measuring up to 20 inches. Gaging transducers are often selected over free-unguided LVDTs because a hard connection can not be made to the moving object. All units consist of a spring loaded shaft guided through a phosphorous bronze, leaded bearing. A hardened steel contact tip will contact the object to be measured.

Linear Velocity Transducers

Trans-Tek Linear Velocity Transducers provide a DC Voltage Output proportional to the instantaneous velocity of the object being measured. These analog transducers need NO excitation voltage, and are extremely rugged. Velocity can be measured over linear ranges from 0.50 to 24 inches.

The Series 100 Linear Velocity Transducers are inductive, instantaneous velocity transducers. By moving a magnet through a pair of series opposed coils, the transducer will output a DC voltage proportional to the instantaneous velocity. No excitation voltage is required. Available ranges are from 0.5" to 24.0".

Angular Displacement Transducers

Trans-Tek Angular Displacement Transducers are capacitive, shaft driven devices capable of providing a DC Voltage or 4-20 mA output signal proportional to the absolute angular displacement. Ranges up to 300 degrees with accuracy's to 0.05% of full scale are available. Trans-Tek Angular Displacement Transducers use a capacitive technology to provide a highly accurate output signal proportional to shaft rotation. The capacitive sensing element is non-contact, resulting in a transducer with an extremely long life. For convenience, all signal conditioning electronics are packaged directly in the unit, resulting in DC-in/DC-out operation.
